Irene Marie Flannery (Leonardi) born in Hamilton, Montana, September 15, 1937. Died of a stroke on April 11, 2019. She passed in peace at the age of 81. Irene spent 55 years of her life in Sherwood, Oregon. She lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends, neighbors, and family about flowers, new recipes to try, gardening, sewing, interacting with her grandchildren, volunteering with her OSU Extension group and spending time at the family beach cabin. She found great happiness in family and friends. Irene is preceded in death by an older brother Pete Leonardi and her loving parents, Pierina and Augusto Leonardi. She is survived by her husband Louis William Flannery, children; Rosalynn, Aaron, Angela and Brendan, grandchildren; Kaitlynn, Peter, Dylan, Keaton, Daylena, Derek, William and Saro Fina and great-grandson Graham; sisters; Rosie and Elenor, brother Robert; many nieces, nephews, brother-in-law and sister-in-laws. Family and friends whose lives Irene touched are invited to the memorial service at Attrell’s Funeral Chapel, 207 Villa Road, Newberg, Oregon 97132. Service is Friday, April 19, 2019, at 2:00 PM. Donations can be made to Newberg Animal Shelter or Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation.
