Harry W. Sivec Sr., age 87, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1969, moving from Euclid. He served in the US Navy on the USS Gyatt during the Korean War. Harry worked as a Cryogenic Technician for NASA retiring in 1990 after 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in North Ridgeville and was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan who enjoyed golfing, fishing, telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his quick wit and colorful expressions. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Teresa (nee Konopka); sons, Harry J. (Cathy) Sivec of Akron, Robert (Lisa) Sivec of Monroe Falls; daughter, Michelle Sivec of Stow; grandchildren, Jacob, Caitlin, Elaina and Nick Sivec; sister-in-law, Freida Sivec of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna (nee Tomcik) Sivec; brother, Frank; sisters, Matilda Miller, Olga Sivec and Ann Broski. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held on Monday at 10:30AM followed by an 11AM Mass at St. Julie’s Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd. Rev. George Vrabel, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
