Obituary for Harry Edward Mitchell Jr. Harry Edward Mitchell, Jr., 84 years young, of Houston went to be with his Lord Wednesday, April 17, 2019. He was born Wednesday, October 3, 1934 to Harry, Sr and Margaret Mitchell. Harry is preceded in death by his wife Lenora Mitchell, parents, siblings: W.T. Mitchell and Mary Wright-Anderson and grandsons: Matthew Villarreal and Joshua Brewer. He is survived by daughters: Darlene Lee, Donna Idom and husband Ricky, Linda McDonald and husband Otis, Gwyn Nelson and husband Jim; grandchildren: Marcy, Anna, Valerie, Vanessa, Racheal, Kerri, Chelsea, Aaron and Corey; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kyle, Kayla, Coen, Ben, Michael, Daisy, Jasmine, Lucy, Maximus, Brinnen, Cadense, Hailey, Arlo, and Aria; and many other family members and friends. Interment will be at Houston National Cemetery, in Houston, Texas. Husband to one, Daddy to four, Peepaw to ten grands, and fifteen great grands. Pastor to hundreds and Brother-in-Christ to thousands. You didn’t have to be blood to be family to him! He loved us with all his heart! Harry worked hard. He pastored in the South Texas Section of the Assemblies of God for sixteen years while working fulltime. His ministry began in 1971 with a home missions church in Schulenburg, TX. He loved working at Children and Youth Camps while his daughters attended. His second pastoral position was in Bedias, TX in 1978. His third pastoral position was in Mathis, TX in 1983. He played hard. He enjoyed people and was always joking around. He never knew a stranger! He was obsessed with Bingo and loved sharing his prizes with all of us. He went hard after Christ. His passion for Christ overflowed to everyone in his path. He saturated himself in the presence of God and strove to share the love of Jesus with everyone he knew. He would invite people home, take people out to eat, spend all his money buying Bibles and ministry materials to share with fellow nursing home residents. He impacted so many lives with his generosity and acts of kindness! A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2019 at North Central Church, 25130 Aldine Westfield Rd., Spring TX 77373. Order Flowers
