H LaRue Jenney 1931 2019

Obituary of H. LaRue Jenney H. LaRue Jenney passed away April 11, 2019 following a long illness. He is predeceased by his wife, RuthAnn, son James, and son-in-law, James Drake. Larue is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rose Marie Jenney and Phillip Hurlbert, daughter, Melissa A. Drake, and grandsons, Shawn Flynn and Bradley Kizale. LaRue was a graduate of Athens Area High School. He served with the 224th Infantry during the Korean War. Upon returning, he earned a degree in Education at Mansfield College. LaRue taught at Northeast Bradford High School teaching Geography, History, and Photography, until his retirement. He and his parents maintained a dairy herd into the 70’s, and he has continued to maintain the farm. LaRue was a lifetime member of the Grange and Sayre VFW Post#1536. He was a Firearms Safety Instructor, avid photographer, and enjoyed hunting and gardening. And at age 81, he returned to his love of motorcycles. Family and friends may call on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 10am-12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at 12pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in LaRue’s memory to: Guthrie Veteran’s Patient Assistance Fund, Att.: Resource Development, One Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840. These funds are used for Veteran’s who are receiving medical attention to help transport them to appointments, medical bills, household bills, mortgage payments to help sustain them while going through medical issues.
