George Morre Strike August 07, 1926 – April 09, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card GEORGE MORRE STRIKE George Morre Strike 92 of Bluefield, VA passed away Tuesday April 9, 2019 at Commonwealth Senior Living. Born in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late Jack Strike and Lillian Morre Strike. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. George was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church for 54 years and was very devoted to his church and family. He was very proud of his service in the US Navy and served in WWII and a proud member of the American Legion. He was a man who could fix anything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Margaret Ann Strike. Brothers Joe, John, and Charles Strike, sister Dorothy Carte, and son-in-law John Tibbs, Jr. He will be lovely remembered by daughter Stephenia Tibbs of Tazewell, VA, grandson Casey Tibbs of Bluefield, VA, great grandson Tyler J. Tibbs of Coburn, VA, his fur baby Sam, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate George’s life will be held Saturday April 13, 2019 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 2:00pm with Reverend Russ Hatfield officiating and military rights by Mercer County Honor Guard. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday 1 hour prior to the service.
