Obituary Evangeline “Angie” Angelos, 89, of Pasadena, Maryland, formerly of Weirton passed away Thursday April 18, 2019 at Crofton Care and Rehab Center, Crofton, Maryland. Born November 6, 1929 in Phokea Khalkidike Greece, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Artemis Matsouka Angelos. She was also preceded in death by her brother Louis Angelos and brother in law George Sklavos. Angie came to America with her parents at the age of 4. She graduated from Weir High School then attended West Liberty University where she earned a degree in secondary education. She went on to further her education at the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her master’s degree in Educational Counseling. Angie taught English at Weir High for 35 years. She was a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Weirton where she was a choir member for more than 50 years and was a part-time choir member at Ypapanti in East Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Choir Federation, Daughters of Penelope, Y.A.S.O.U., Ladies Philoptochos Society, Asia Minor Society and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Angie enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was very active in her school, church and the community of Weirton. She was known to everyone as a very giving, kind, loving and sincere person. She is survived by her sister Fotiene Sklavos of Pasadena, Maryland; sister in law Margaret Angelos of Trenton, Michigan and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Friends will be received on Monday from 3-7 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, where a Trisagion Service will be held at 6:00 PM. Additional visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 until the 11 AM funeral service at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. Rev. Father Frank A. Milanese will officiate. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
