Eva’s Obituary Eva (Godshall) Greaser, 91, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2019 at Grand View Hospital. She was a resident of Dock Woods Community since 2011 and the wife of the late Robert A. Greaser who passed away in 2006. Born March 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Jonathan B. and Mamie G. (Metz) Godshall. She was born and raised on a farm in Franconia Township where she had wonderful childhood memories. Her family attended Franconia Mennonite Church where Eva was baptized at the age of 16. After marrying, Eva and Bob made their home in Hatfield and were actively involved at Plains Mennonite and Souderton Mennonite Churches. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and was chairperson of Lansdale area Fresh Air Children from New York City. She served on the Spiritual Life Committee at Dock Woods Community and for a number of years wrote a monthly prayer letter for the Souderton Mennonite congregation. She enjoyed reading, traveling, flowers, gardening, baking, canning/freezing fruits and vegetables, and was a dedicated walker. She was a wonderful cook and known especially for her famous hickory nut cake. Eva was a life-long learner. As an adult, she completed the GED requirements and at the age of 55 graduated Magna Cum Laude with an associate degree from Montgomery County Community College. She enjoyed writing and authored and published a book on the history of the Clemens Family. Most of all, Eva loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was devoted to reading and studying the Bible, committing large passages to memory. Eva’s love for Jesus was overshadowed only by His love for her!
