Obituary for Eugene F. Rutzler Eugene F. Rutzler, Sr. 63 passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Gene was a loving and incredible husband, father and grandfather. His family was his passion. He also loved the Barnegat Bay, the beach, vacationing, and his own back yard. He was a graduate of Kearny High School, class of 1974 and attended Lincoln Technical Institute. He relocated to Bayville, NJ in 1978. He was the owner and operator of E.F. Rutzler & Sons, Heating and Air Conditioning with his son Christopher Sr. Gene is survived by his wife Marianne (Polo) Rutzler of 39 years, his son Eugene F. Rutzler, Jr., his four adoring grandchildren: Tara, Christopher Jr., Jakob, and Rowan, his daughters in law Catie Rutzler and Shannon Dawe, his brother Richard of North Carolina, George of North Carolina, Sharon Livingston of Kearny, Edward & Carol Rutzler of Toms River, Katherine & William Salmon of Toms River, Marilyn & Ron Cohen of Maple Shade, Margaret & Richard Crincoli of Barnegat, and Doreen Rutzler of Edison, his father in law Francis W. Polo Sr, sister in law Sharon Polo of Kearny, and his brother in law Francis W. Polo, Jr. of Toms River, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his Son Christopher M. Rutzler, Sr., his parents Edward & Mary Rutzler, his brothers Robert, Thomas, Frederick & Lawrence, his mother in law Dolores Polo, sister and brother in law Deborah and Jack Fergie. Gene was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance. The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4-8pm at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O’Connell Chapel 706 Rt. 9 Bayville, NJ 08721. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 11am at St. Barnabas RC Church, Bayville, NJ 08721.
