Blaszkowski, age 91 of Ashland, WI, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, WI, surrounded by family. Eugene was born December 1, 1927 in Ashland WI the son of Ben and Bernice (Leciejewski) Blaszkowski. He married Virginia Carpenter, the daughter of Walter and Alice (Danish) Carpenter on Sept 23, 1950, at St, Agnes Catholic Church in Ashland. Eugene worked and retired from the Soo Line Railroad. He Spent all his years living on the family farm, founded by his parents known as Mineral Springs Dairy. In his younger years, Eugene delivered milk with his father to Ashland area homes and businesses. The dairy closed, but he continued to live on the farm, raise his family, and was very passionate about his vegetable gardens on the property. When he had an overabundanceof vegetables he would donate produce to the local coops and grocery stores. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing with his family, and would also take his family wild blueberry picking in the barrens. Eugene is survived by his wife, Virginia; Five children, Marie (Bob Vlasaty) of Ashland, Patti (Rick Miller) of Oshkosh, David (Linda Little) of Ashland, Therese (Don Gerber) of Hayward, Brian (Carrie Sutarik) of Ashland; Brother, Robert (Beverly) of Ashland; Four grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren and Four great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Veronica and Lucille. A funeral service for Eugene will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. at the Mountain Funeral Home in Ashland, WI with Deacon John Grek officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home in Ashland and continue until the hour of service. Interment will take place in the Saint Agnes Cemetery, Ashland, immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Alzheimer Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen, WI.
