Morton, 86, of Carrol Hill Rd., Corry, Pa., died Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Corry Manor. He was born January 28, 1933 in Bloomfield Township, Pa., a son of the late Lawrence and Flossie Shreve Morton. Emory was raised and educated in the Spring Creek and Wheelock areas and graduated from Corry High School in 1951. Following high school, he began working at Raymond Manufacturing Company (Associated Spring-Barnes Group). Emory then joined the U. S. Army serving from March 1953 until March of 1955 in Korea. After his honorable discharge, he returned to the Corry area and resumed working at Associated Spring-Barnes Group. He retired in the mid 1990’s from the Heat Treat department after over 40 years of service. Also, since moving to his present home on Carrol Hill Rd. in the mid 1960’s, he had operated a beef cattle farm. He was a long time member of the Columbus Community Church where he served as a Trustee and usher. Emory enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Emory was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Carl, Clyde and Bruce Morton; and a half-brother, Mead Williams. Emory is survived by his wife, Mary V. Smith Morton, whom he married June 15, 1957 in North East, Pa.; a daughter, Bonnie Morton and Ray Schrider of Gaithersburg, MD.; and Randy Morton and his wife Kris of Ephrata, Pa.; and two sisters, Joyce Messinger of Corry, Pa., and Cheryl Maynard and her husband Edward of Mechanicsville, Va. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Tabitha Morton, Kasey Mares and her husband John, and Chad Morton; a step-grandson, Matthew Schrider; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday from 11 am until the time of the funeral service there at 1 pm. Pastor Les Utegg will officiate. Burial will be in West Spring Creek Cemetery, West Spring Creek, Pa. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
