Elizabeth’s Obituary Elizabeth J. Mackus, 90 of Palmer Township, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019, at VNA Hospice House at St. Luke’s, Bethlehem. Born February 4, 1929 in Nazareth, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Ellen (Getz) Keck, Sr. and wife of the late John J. Mackus, Sr. She was a waitress, cook, and bartender for Youell’s Oyster House, Allentown for ten years before retiring in 1975. Prior to that she worked at various restaurants in the Lehigh Valley. She is survived by daughters, Miriam wife of John Remchuk of Palmerton, Gail Cerva of Palmer Township, Darlene wife of Jay Newman of Palmer Township, Bonnie wife of John Zmyewski of Northampton, Connie Trimmer of Wilson Boro, and Jacqulyn Mackus of Easton, son, John J. Mackus and wife Masako of Foothill Ranch, CA, brother, Luther Keck, Jr. of Bethlehem, 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by daughter, Gloria Avalon, brother, Donald Keck, and sister, Virginia Shuman.
