Elizabeth “Betty”‘s Obituary ELIZABETH “BETTY” JEAN (HARTFORD) PARADIS, 89, of First St., Groveton and formerly of Mollybrook Dr. Stark died peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2019, at her daughter’s home after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on March 5, 1930, in Lancaster, NH the daughter of Ormand L. and Hazel B. (Howland) Hartford, she has been a lifelong resident of the Lancaster/Groveton/Stark areas. Betty was a graduate of the Lancaster Academy, class of 1949. She was a member of the St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish. She was a past president of the Groveton PTO; Regent of the Daughters of Isabella; President of the American Legion Auxilary, Post #17; District Director of the American Legion Auxilary for District #8; Volunteer at the Weeks Memorial Hospital for two years; Volunteer at the Groveton Thrift Shop for many years. She worked with the Groveton Community Christmas Party Committee; enjoyed painting; was a past member of the American Legion bowling team and the Groveton Trailblazers. Betty is survived by her two children Joanne “Jodi” Paradis and Richard “Dickie” Paradis and wife Holly all of Groveton; four grandchildren, Melissa Sansoucy; Lindsay Paradis; Ryan Shannon and Anna Belanger; and Kevin Shannon; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years William “Bill” Paradis on June 14, 2007, and her brother Ormand “Jim” Hartford in 1987. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, from 3-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 10 am at the St. Francis Xavier Church with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating. Inurnment will be on June 7, 2019, at 11:00 am in the Summer St. Cemetery in Lancaster.
