Edwin’s Obituary Edwin J. Melvin, 91, of Fulton passed away on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. He was born at home in Liverpool the son of the late Lyman and Izora (Schaefer) Melvin. Edwin was raised and worked on his family farm which is currently known as the Bayberry community. He began his career in construction as the owner and operator of Ed Melvin Excavating for over 25 years. He retired from the Town of Schroeppel and finished his work career with J K Tobin Construction Company. He has resided in Fulton since 1976. Edwin was the last Charter member of the Moyers Corners Fire Department and attained the rank of First Assistant Chief. He is predeceased by his first wife, Grace Melvin in 1991. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Joan M. (Zawacki) Melvin of Fulton, his son, Lyman (Barb) Melvin of Syracuse, daughter, Kim (Gregory) Shaffer of Phoenix, NY, two grandchildren, Erin (Steven) Brown of Jackson, NJ, Jamie Shaffer of Phoenix, NY. and great granddaughter, Juliette Brown. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville with Funeral Services to follow at 6:00 pm.
