Donald Jeffrey (Jeff) Roof, 56 Jeffrey Roof of Towanda PA, passed away April 4, 2019 at Guthrie Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA. He was born January 22, 1963 in Towanda to Carlton L. Roof and Elizabeth C. Roof Peterson. He graduated from Towanda Area High School and served in the United States Army. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey D. Roof and daughter Brittany Timmerman of Rockledge, FL; his mother, Elizabeth Peterson and stepmother Harriet Roof of Towanda; brothers, Gregg Roof (Sharon) and Chris Roof (Becky) of Towanda; stepbrothers Mike Peterson of Bath, NY, David Peterson (Christine ) of Hammondsport, NY, William Peterson (Cindy) of Wisconsin; Gene Beers (Pam) of Towanda; stepsisters Cynthia Aeppli (Jeff) of Herrickville and Toni Ballenstedt (George) of Athens; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeff was predeceased by his father Carlton Roof and his stepfather Raymond Peterson. Jeff was a member of various organizations throughout his life; Monroeton Rod and Gun Club, the VFW in Towanda, and the AmVets in Macedonia. It never mattered how much help Jeff may have needed. He would put his troubles aside and be there for you. He had a love of helping anyone in need. We will always carry his memory and love in our hearts. Jeff loved any kind of racing. If it had a motor, he was a fan. He also loved hunting and fishing, and would spend days fishing the Susquehanna in Echo Beach. Jeff was employed by various contractors throughout his life, and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do when it came to construction. He was a very talented man. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home 217 York Ave. Towanda, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Please join us in celebrating Jeff’s life, as we all know how he liked a good time.
