Derek Grant’s Obituary Derek Grant Southern, Jr., 26, of Acworth, died Sunday, April 7, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Grant was born in Cartersville and had lived in Acworth for most of his life. He was employed as a tile setter in the construction industry. Surviving are his father, Derek Grant Southern, Sr., of Marietta; mother, Denise Southern of Acworth; brother, Nick Southern of Acworth; grandfather, Raymond Southern of Marietta; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
