Clarence Donald Erdmann passed away April 25, 2019, in Provo, Utah, just days after his 88th birthday. He was born in Springville, Utah, on April 17,1931 to Clarence Dewey Erdmann and Elen Dorthea Poulsen. Donald attended school in Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1949. He married Barbara Greenall in the Salt Lake Temple on June 29,1950. Don worked at Geneva Steel in the open hearth for over 30 years. He was a master gardener, electrician, and builder. He had a thirst for knowledge and learned whatever he could through reading and doing. He took great pride in his work and wanted to make sure it was done right. He did his very best and didn’t cut any corners. He had a reputation among his family and friends of being able to fix anything. This kept him busy and he was always happy to serve. Don was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Home Teacher, Stake Media Specialist, and Building and Facilities Coordinator. He especially enjoyed family history and spent many hours indexing. He loved serving in the Provo temple for over 12 years as an ordinance worker. He is survived by his wife, his children, John D. (Gloria), D. Reed (Robin), Tracy L. (Carol), Mark D. (Mary Ann), Patricia (John Allen) and Gary E. (Rebecca), 30 grandchildren and 75 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Jeanette Erdmann and Anna Jean King, brothers Kim Lee and John Erdmann, and grandson, Brandon Erdmann. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mapleton 9th Ward Chapel, 31 W. Maple St, Mapleton. Family and friends may visit Thursday evening, May 2, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, and on Friday morning at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
