KERCHNER, Catherine A., 90, of West Warwick, RI, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 at Briarcliffe Gardens. She was the beloved wife of Leonard A. Kerchner, they were married for 60 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the only daughter of the late Michael J. and Sophie (Theobald) Brennan. She attended Bishop McDonnell H.S. and graduated from St. Johns University in 1951. She devoted her life to helping people beginning as an elementary school teacher at Queen of All Saints in Brooklyn, a cub scout den mother and special education assistant in Chicopee, MA, and home healthcare aide in Rhode Island. She loved children and never passed up a chance to chat with a friend or stranger. She leaves three sons, Michael T. Kerchner and his wife Jeani Narcum of Chestertown, MD, Stephen E. Kerchner and his wife Elizabeth A. Carson of Longmont, CO and Paul F. Kerchner of Chicopee, MA; and granddaughter, Ellen Kerchner. Interment will be Wednesday April 17, 2019 at 12:00 pm in St. Rosa de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee, MA. Information and condolences please visit: www.henault-gallogly.com
