Carolyn Mary Anne Welch, 66, of Columbus, passed from this life at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center. Carolyn Mary Anne was born January 3, 1953 in Columbus, the daughter of Herman E. and Fannie M. Finn Grissom. She was a self employed Beautician and was formerly employed at Dolly Madison, Walmart and Arvin Meritor. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte (Michael) McFarland of Columbus and Keishia Welch-Davis of Westport; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, LaWanda Jones, Karen (John) Arp and Connie Hash; brothers, Charles (Lisa) Grissom, James (Wendy) Grissom and Clemmie “Hokie” Hash Jr.; half-sisters, Bertha Ketchum and Patricia Purnell; step-son, Brian Welch; step-daughter, Melissa Walpole; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Keith Welch and Kenneth Pursiful; brothers, Kevin Hanger, Bobby Grissom, Dempsey Grissom and Kevin Grissom; a sister, Shirley Grissom and her step-father, Lewis Hash. The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday and 10:00 a.m. to time of service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
