Vernon, Ohio – Carolyn Jane Harnett, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2019. She was born on June 1, 1930, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Edna Mae (Lynch) and Walter Gifford Fair. Jane was a 1948 graduate of Vernon High School and a lifelong kinsman area resident. On October 16, 1948 she married Donald Laverne Harnett. A homemaker, but worked briefly for the former Target Stamping of Kinsman, Palmer Tax of Cortland, Westinghouse and for Cortland Bank. Jane attended the Orangeville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. Jane loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Donald D. Harnett and Gregory D. Harnett; a great granddaughter, Advent Hope Rae and two sisters, Doris Klingensmith and Donna Krumpak. Survivors include her husband of seventy years, Don Harnett of Vernon; a daughter, Ruthann D. Harnett of Vernon; three sons, Douglas A. (Judy) Harnett of Transfer, Pennsylvania, Michael R. (Sharina) Harnett and Steven W. (Denise) Harnett both of Vernon, Ohio; three sisters, M. Louise Semroc of Greenville, Pennsylvania, Diana (Ed) Phelps of Cleveland, Ohio and Peggy (John) Schuller of Vienna, Ohio; a brother, Edward Fair of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Noon at Orangeville United Methodist Church, 7850 Orangeville Road, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania with Rev. Ronald McIlvaine officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 11th from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio and on Friday April 12th from 11:00AM until services begin.
