Services will be conducted by Fr. Anthony Anala, SVD. Interment will be in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery. Betty Mae Lewis-Alfred was born on October 2, 1952 in Lafayette, LA to the late Henry Lewis and Lorise Alexander Thomas. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her companion of 30 years, Joshua Bernard of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Geri (Perryn) Lenoir and Mary (Fabian) Anderson, both of Lafayette, LA; two brothers, Sanders (Lorena) Thomas and Richard (Carol) Thomas; three sisters, Grace Thomas, Bessie (Milton) Alexander, all of Lafayette, LA and Betty (Cecil) Palmer of New Orleans, LA; five grandchildren, Gerrun Phillips, Daytori Lenoir, Famarion Anderson, Malik Anderson and Aden Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Alfred; her parents, Henry Lewis and Lorise Thomas; her maternal grandparents, Conston Alexander and Doris Alexander; her paternal grandparents, Henry Lewis and Orelia Pete; two brothers, Clarence and Norris Thomas; three nieces, Latasha Hope, Rosa Lee Constantine and Patsy Nelson and one sister, Anna Belle Lewis Celestine. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Syrie Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
