Arvella Harmon Greenwell November 20 1924 April 11 2019

Arvella Harmon Greenwell was born on November 20, 1924 and died April 11, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sandy A. Greenwell, Jr., her parents, Cora Dugger and Wilburn R. Harmon and her stepfather, Frank B. Dugger. Surviving are her daughters, Deborah and husband, Terry Jones and Sharon and husband, Greg Vares; grandsons, Sandy and wife, Shannon and Derek Nave and Liahna Hope and Arvella Maria Nave. Also, a host of loving relatives and dear friends. Arvella’s priorities in life were simple. She loved God first and then her most important roles in life were those of daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, family member and friend. Her special gift was that of being a good listener. She loved life. She enjoyed traveling, dancing with Sandy, a stimulating conversation and a cup of tea and a good book. Her legacy will be that of a kind, loving and gentle spirit. She would probably say that the ultimate lesson all of us have to learn is unconditional love, which includes not only others but ourselves as well. Arvella was a member of First Baptist Church of Elizabethton. A private service will be held at the Happy Valley Memorial Park, Mausoleum of Peace. The family would like to thank the staff and special caregivers at Sycamore Springs Retirement Center for their compassionate and loving care. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Senior Citizens Center, 428 West G Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or a charity of your choice.
