Anthony L. Benzie, 86, of Paw Paw, MI, died April 3, 2019, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on April 27, 1932, in Burnside, PA, the son of Stanley Benzie and Agnes (Rybarcek) Benzie. Anthony graduated from Montgomery Schools in Pennsylvania. He proudly served in the Unites States Army as an engineer during the Korean War. Tony was a very hard worker and that showed in his time as a coal miner, farmer, and tool & die maker. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans Association. Tony enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his Wife of 63 years, Marilyn Jean Benzie; Children, Anthony T.(Debbie) Benzie, Vickie S. Benzie, Frances A.(Barry) Buell, and Stanley A. Benzie; Grandchildren, Cynthia (Brad) Stevens, Ashley Benzie, Jennifer (Kyle) Klooster, Amber (Ross) Ramlal, Jeanette Benzie, and Abigayle (Tim) Benzie; Great-Grandchildren, Nathan, Ella, Brooklyn, Timothy, and Cohen. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents and all other siblings. He is survived by his sister, Florence Speer. Friends will be received at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave, on Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 209 S. Brown Street, on Monday, April 8, 2019, at 10:00 am with Father Joseph Xavier officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Legion.
