Alvin’s Obituary Alvin Eugene King Jr., age 69 of Burgaw, passed Saturday April 6, 2019 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 19, 1949 in Schrader PA, son of the late Alvin and Genevieve Phillips King Sr. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Christine Willis. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wills King, four sons, Andrew King and wife Wendy of PA, Craig King and family of PA, Brian King and wife Rachel of PA, and Michael Willis of Burgaw; eight grandchildren, three sisters, Deborah Burnsworth of PA, Karen Wolf of GA, and Deloros Rugg of PA; two brothers, Cerry King of PA, and Kenneth King of PA; and many nieces and nephews. Alvin loved fishing, and was a great story teller. He was a truck driver and was known by the handle and nickname “Groundhog.” He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served honorably in the Vietnam War.
