Walter’s Obituary Walter G. Ahlm age 91 of Minnetonka. Walter lived in Minnesota all of his life. As a young man, after a short term in the Navy, her returned home and began working with his brother in the cement business. He eventually started his own business, Walter G. Ahlm Cement Contracting Co., retiring at age 65. Several years later he took a part time position as a security guard at the Cargill Corp. headquarters, where he worked for 10 years. In his final years, he lovingly cared for his wife of 70 years, Ellen until she passed away in 2017. Walter was a follower of Christ, a faithful husband and loving father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by wife, Ellen Esther (Arolin) Ahlm; parents, Lars and Emma Ahlm, who emigrated from Sweden in the early 1900’s; and brother, Arthur E. Ahlm. He is survived by daughter, Connie Pratt (Larry) of Matthews, NC; son, Bradley Ahlm (Dawn) of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Angela Pratt (Greg Weddle) of Greenville, SC, Garrett Ahlm, Daniel Ahlm and Amanda Blake (Kallan) of Minneapolis; other relatives and friends. Funeral 2:00 PM Thursday, March 14 at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
