Violet’s Obituary A longtime Everett resident, Violet passed away Tuesday morning, March 12, 2019 at her home in Everett. Born in Chelsea, she is the daughter of the late James M. and Susannah (White) Russell. Growing up, Violet attended Chelsea Public Schools. She began her working career as a young woman, working as a cardboard feeder at the Standard Box Company in Chelsea. She worked there for 15 years before she left her job to take care of her family and her home. She attended night school in Everett to receive her GED. After raising her family, Violet went back to work at Bo Peep Diaper Service in Everett. Violet retired as a supervisor after dedicating 20 years of service to the company. She was deeply missed by all of her employees when she left Bo Peep. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Violet was pre-deceased by her first husband, Thomas F. Kinch, Jr. and she was also pre-deceased by her second husband, James Williams. She is the beloved mother of Dianna M. (Kinch) Lynch and her companion John Elia of ME, Susannah (Sykes) Bookstein of Peabody and her companion Brian Eddy, Laurie Jean (Sykes) Flagg of Everett and her companion Donald Campbell and the late Thomas F. Kinch, III. Mother-in-law of Ida Kinch of Needham. Sister of the late George H. Russell, S. Hubert Russell, John H. Russell, Gideon J. Russell, George W. Russell, James M. Russell, Patience Lillian Mugford, Laura Jane Sykes, Martha Ann Russell. Violet was also lovingly survived by 4 grandchildren, Christine M. Kinch Azevedo and her husband Larry of Jamaica Plain, Shannon Lee Lynch Vandevoordt and her husband Ken of North Reading, Harrison A. Bookstein and his wife Pamela of Peabody, Matthew Charles Flagg and his wife Marissa of CT, and 2 great grandchildren, Ryan Thomas Vandevoordt, Madison Violet Flagg. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral from the Carafa Family Funeral Home 389 Washington Ave. Chelsea on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Service at the First Church of the Nazarene, 529 Eastern Ave. Malden at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday, March 17 from 3-7 P.M. Interment is private. Read More
