Vernalea Loftin September 01, 1927 – March 26, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Vernalea Loftin, age 91, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 1, 1927, in North Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Carl L. and Elsie Marie (Smith) Holder. As a teenager, she moved with her family to San Francisco, CA where she graduated from high school. She returned to Kansas City and was employed by KCP&L for several years. On August 30, 1963, in Kansas City, she was united in marriage to Wilbur “Bud” Loftin. They made their home in Kansas City where they owned and operated Holder-Loftin Nursery for twenty-five years. In 1994, they moved permanently to their lake home in KC Colony Resort near Edwards, MO. Vernalea enjoyed working with her flowers and traveling. She also volunteered at the senior center and anywhere she was needed. She attended the Warsaw Christian Church in Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, her parents and one sister, Zelda Gil. She is survived by her brother, Carl R. Loftin and his wife, Lorna of Butler, MO, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home 101 W. Main Street Warsaw, Missouri.
