Verda Arlene Olson, born in Chicago, Illinois, April 16, 1939, passed from this life on March 13, 2019 after fighting lung cancer for seven years. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Verda was a long time resident of Santa Clara, CA where she raised her family, upon retirement she spent some years in Maryville, TN, and then Olympia, WA. Verda had a heart for others and often put their needs above her own. She was fond of crocheting, beading, and crafts of all kinds. Verda also enjoyed collecting dolls, beanie babies, and happy meal toys–all of which she loved sharing with others, especially her grandchildren. She also had a great love for the game of bingo and enjoyed winning weekly. Verda Olson will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, William, and their children, Lorie (Monty) Harmon and William (Kirsten) Olson. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kalysta (Michael) Harmon Witwer, Kameron (Kailey) Harmon, Kalister (Ilima) Harmon, Konrad (Jessica) Harmon, Kaleb Harmon, Natasha Olson, Bjorn Olson, Katerina Olson and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Fred (Karen) Miller, and brother-in law Bobby (Sandy) Olson. A memorial service for Verda will be held on Friday April 12, 2019 at 10 am at Grace Community Covenant Church, 5501 Wiggins Road SE, Olympia, followed by a graveside burial at noon at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 3802 Cleveland Avenue, Tumwater, WA.
