Tuula Aulikki Mahady 76, passed away at her care facility, The Good Samaritan Society, in Fort Collins on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the age of 76. She was born in Rauma, Finland. In her youth she worked as an au pair in England and in Germany. In 1969, she moved to the United States to work as a shopkeeper in New York City, where she met Daniel F. Mahady. They were married in 1972 and lived in Denver where Daniel worked. They had two children, Shane and Hannah. However, they divorced after seven years, and Tuula moved with the children back to Finland, where she had Johan. After that she reared the children in Florida, Maine, Arizona, Rhode Island, and Colorado. Tuula worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aid for 15 years and held an Associate’s degree in Jewelry Making. She spent the last 21 years of her life in Colorado. Tuula is predeceased by her husband (divorced) Daniel Mahady, her son Shane Mahady, and her dog Chewie. She is survived by her daughter Hannah Mahady and her son Johan Mahady. A memorial service will be held at The Good Samaritan Society, 508 W. Trilby Rd., Fort Collins, Colorado, on Friday, March 29 at 2 pm.
