Thelma Yandell March 22, 1928 – March 27, 2019 Thelma M. Yandell, 91, Rogersville, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Strafford Care Center. She was born March 22, 1928 in Rogersville, Missouri the daughter the late Albert A. Audrey N. (Robb) Yandell. Thelma grew up north of Rogersville and graduated from Rogersville High School. She earned her teaching degree from Springfield Teachers College. She taught in a one room schoolhouse at Panther Valley School for the first three years of her career. She then taught four grade at Rogersville Elementary School until her retirement in the early 1990’s. A very private person, she was a member of the Church of Christ and contributed to many causes. She is survived a her sister, Betty June Wood and her husband Eugene, her friend, Anita Cobb who was a dear friend and a part of her family, several nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gaylord Yandell, two sisters, Anna Fields and Edith Yandell; a half-brother, John Yandell; and a half-sister, Mary Robb. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2019 at Panther Valley Cemetery north of Rogersville on Highway KK. Services are under the care of J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. No visitation is planned.
