Stephen J. Lucasi March 08, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Stephen Joseph Lucasi, of Riverton, NJ passed suddenly on March 8, 2019 at the age of 64. Steve was born and raised in Williamsport, PA. He was a graduate of Westminster Choir College and went on to attend Trenton State University where he earned his Master of Arts Degree in choral conducting. Steve was an accomplished musician and singer who dedicated his career in service of the Catholic Church, including serving as the Music Director at Sacred Heart Church, Riverton, NJ, as head of the Diocesan Festival Choir for the Trenton Diocese, NJ, and as the Director of Sacred Music for Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Moorestown, NJ, where he would have celebrated 30-years of service in 2019. From 2000 to 2005, Steve conducted concerts with the Festival Choir and Greater Trenton Symphony Orchestra as part of the annual Jubilee for the Performing Arts. An avid composer and arranger of music, Steve also established the Laudate Chorale, “Chorus of Praise”, a group of singers whose performances raised money to support charities and communities in need. He organized performance tours that brought his choirs to Italy, Ireland, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. Among his many other interests, Steve enjoyed providing music lessons to children and adults, gardening, reading about history and music, making his home more environmentally friendly, and spending time with his shih tzus. Steve was always most joyful when he spent time with his family and friends. A devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Steve was generous beyond measure with his time, energy, humor, abounding optimism and eternally positive outlook. He was guided by his strong faith and ardent belief in a life of service to his family, church and community. Predeceased by his mother, Frances Lucasi (nee Baier), Steve is survived by; his father, Stephen J. Lucasi of Williamsport, PA; his beloved wife of 42 years, Barbara J. (nee Corbett) of Riverton, NJ and their children; Ana Jean Yevonishon and her husband John, of Hockessin, DE, Stephen P. Lucasi of Los Angeles, CA, and Marie Sweeney and her husband Sean of Glenside, PA; his dear grandchildren, John, Claire and Jake Yevonishon and Scarlett and Genevieve Sweeney. Steve is also survived by; his siblings, Jean Reidy (Joe), Alan Lucasi (Sharon) and Vicki Lucasi (Greg Allegretti); his sisters & brothers in-law, Lynne Zuccolotto, Kathy Hill, Thomas Corbett (Mave Brown), Patrick Corbett (Richard) and Nora Coffey (Chuck); as well as several nieces and nephews along with many dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM all at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 42 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Interment will be private.
