Moore March 07, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Ruth Lela (Shay) Moore, 79, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her home in Harrisburg, PA. Ruthie is survived by her four children; Scott P. Moore husband of Claire; Mt. Wolf, Paul Wm Moore, Jr. husband of Karen, Titusville, Florida/Boston Mass; Tammy J. Motter, Manchester; and Michele Pleskonko, wife of Stan; Harrisburg; Twelve grandchildren, Bryan, Lesley and Samuel Moore, Paul Wm, III, Brendan and Caitlyn Moore, Kelly, Katy and Kristin Motter, and Mitchell, Zakkary and Marshall Pleskonko; and 4 great-grandchildren, Ashur and Alexis Caldwell, and Ethan & Max Moore. As well as 2 sisters, Linda (Shay) Warfel, wife of Dennis; and Cindy (Johnson) Underhill, wife of Kenny. She was preceded in death by P. William ‘Bill’ Moore, her husband of 58 years; as well as her brother John, and sister Brenda. Ruth was a 1958 graduate of Lampeter Strasburg HS. She was a long-time member of First Reformed Church in Lancaster, where she also served as the ton for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. She loved hiking and spending time outdoors. She developed “Raggedy Sal the Fireman’s Pal”, a fire prevention program for children, while volunteering with Eden Fire Co. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asana Hospice & Palliative Care, 4813 Jonestown Rd, Suite 201, Harrisburg, PA 17109 A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1 at 11am.
