Nicole L. Christie, age 46 of Batesville, died Saturday, March 23, 2019 at her home. Born August 21, 1972 in Akron, Ohio, she is the daughter of Carol (Nee: Kanfel) and Steve Kline. She married John Christie March 26, 1994 at the First Congregational Church of Akron. Nicole began working as a substitute teacher for the Batesville School Corporation in 2004 and later accepted the position of Receptionist for the Batesville Middle School. She attended the University of Akron where she and John met and began dating during their freshman year. Family has always been important to her. She and John have been very active with their kid’s activities, even as they’ve gotten older. Nicole was an avid reader who liked Tom Clancy and Stephen King novels, was a huge Harry Potter fan, dearly loved her dog Brutus, did cross stitching and was a good cook. Her chicken crepes and buffalo chicken dip were family favorites. She is survived by her husband John; daughter Kaitlyn Christie of Nashville, Indiana; son Jacob Christie of Indianapolis, Indiana; and her parents Carol and Steve Kline of Liberty Township Ohio. Visitation is Thursday, March 28th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, March 29th at the Batesville Christian Church with Rev. Steve Yeaton officiating. Following services Nicole’s wishes were to be cremated. The family requests memorials to the Nicole Christie Memorial Scholarship Fund. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Nicole L.
