Nancy Talley August 15, 1955 – January 8, 2019 Nancy Jane Talley (Lyons), 63, passed away with Jesus and her family at her side Tuesday January 8, 2019. Nancy lived everyday with love, warmth, and humor and served Jesus with a passionate heart. Nancy taught Business Education at Logan-Rogersville for 28 years while also investing in the personal lives of students outside of the classroom. She worked tirelessly leading Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was a mother to many of her students. She made every person she met feel welcome, loved and seen. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband Lyle Talley of 42 years. Devoted mother of Kara Dye, son-in-law Brian Dye, daughter Shawna Talley; proud Nana of Gavin and Jovie. Her favorite days were spent making memories with her family in the pool, four wheeling, taking family vacations, playing cards with her girls, and the many hours spent around the family dining table. She was completely selfless, always thinking of ways to support her family and make them smile. In Nancy’s final hours she took comfort in Psalm 37, encouraging her family to take comfort in those words of scripture as well. Nancy was a beacon of light to all who knew her and her legacy continues by her loving example of mother, wife, Nana, educator and Christian. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Fellowship Bible Church, 4855 S Farm Rd 205, Rogersville, under the direction of J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow in White Oak Cemetery, east of Rogersville. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8:00 pm, Friday, January 11, 2019 in the church.
