Funeral Services for Mona Pearson, 84 of Rusk, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Muse Cemetery, Slocum, Texas. Mrs. Pearson passed away peacefully on March 9, 2019. She was born April 7, 1934 to the late George and Mary Bowman in Rusk, Texas. After high school, she went on to nursing school. She worked her entire nursing career at Rusk State Hospital. During her employment she was a preceptor to many students working on their nursing careers; she lived for her career as a nurse. She is predeceased by her parents, husband of 68 years, Doyle Edward Pearson, daughters, Doyla Ann Pearson, and Brenda Gail Mozingo. She is survived by her son, Danny Pearson of Jacksonville, grandchildren, Randal and his wife Karen Kennedy of Whitehouse, Ricky and his wife Kelli Channel of Whitehouse, Brandi Owens-Barrett of Rusk, Michael Bruce Owens of Rusk, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, brother, Slick Bowman of Rusk, sister, Helen Flora of Custer, South Dakota, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randal Kennedy, Ricky Channel, Chase Kennedy, Dakota Collins, Joey Bowman, and Joe Joe Bowman. The honorary pallbearer is Michael Owens. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the funeral home. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mona Pearson please visit our Sympathy Store.
