Mellie’s Obituary Mellie Sue Guy Price was born to Raleigh Buren Guy and Zeffie Atkins on December 22, 1935 and passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019. She was a Special Education teacher for 8 years in Illinois and 22 years at Benton Elementary. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Paul and daughter Melody; step-mother, Manda Atkins; sisters, Geneva Ward and Zelma Walker; nephew, Michael Ward; niece, Trudy Farrell. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Tom Price; daughter, Jill (John) Medearis; son, Joseph (Donna) Price; granddaughters, Alyssa Broadbent and Jordan Disney; grandson, Jacob McDonald; great-granddaughters, Emmalyn Marie McDonald and Thea Kathryn Disney; nephews, Larry Walker and Gary Ward; nieces, Penny Walker and Lisa Ward; special niece, Sandra Shelton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, Benton, TN.
