Martin Martinez, 70, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren on Friday, March 29, 2019. Services: There will be a Viewing at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM, with a Rosary to follow at 9:00 AM. A Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at General Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery. On May 1, 1948, Martin was born in Roswell, New Mexico. His parents were Frank Martinez and Emilia Bartlett Martinez. He graduated from Goddard High School, where he excelled in football and track. Martin was an honorable and proud veteran who served in the US Army. He married Ernestina Orosco Martinez on February 25, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Martin enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing darts. He will be greatly missed and the memories Martin shared with his family and friends will forever remain in their hearts. Survivors: Those left to eternally treasure memories of Martin are his loving wife, Ernestina Orosco Martinez; children: James and Kelly Martinez, Gabriel and Michelle Martinez, Nicole Chavez and Adam Ruiz, Jaime Orosco and Angie Alfonso; grandchildren: Caroline Martinez, Noel Aguirre, Matthias Duran, Noah Aguirre, Angelina Martinez, Jayden Amador, Sofia Martinez, Gabrielle Martinez, Haime Orosco, Hayden Orosco; father, Frank Martinez; mother-in-law, Paula Orosco; siblings: Donnie and Jeannie Bear, Tino and Frances Abila, David and Margie Martinez; and close friends: Tye Lem, Ed Candelaria, and Roberto Varela. Preceded: Preceding Martin in death were his mothers, Delia Bartlett and Emelia Martinez; father-in-law, Lorenzo Orosco.
