Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Paris. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home. Mr. Young passed away at 5:37 p.m. March 11, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain in Mexico He was born in Florida on October 5, 1919 the son of Roy Lee and Eva Heckart Young. He was to married Mary Elizabeth Carman in Mexico on February 24, 1945 and she survives. Other survivors include: one son, Paul M. (Rebecca) Young of Sturgeon; two grandchildren, Brandon (Anna) Young of Jefferson City and Aaron (Kacey) Young of Russellville; and five great grandchildren, Beau, Brody, Adisyn, Karsyn and Aubrey. He was preceded in death by one son, Melvin Leroy Young and one sister, Opal O’Brien. Mr. Young was a lifetime area resident, farmer, carpenter and member of the Perry Christian Church. As a very active member of the church, he served as elder, deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and chairman of the board over the years. He loved woodworking and making things, gardening, hunting, fishing and working on his tractors. Pallbearers will be Brandon Young, Aaron Young, Greg Harrison, Wayne Conley, Bernie Conley and Bobby Conley. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Schutte and Steve Hickman.
