Karen Sue Thompson, 58, of Anderson, passed away March 17, 2019 at Providence Nursing Home surrounded by family. She was born on September 15, 1960 in Anderson, Indiana.. She retired in 2017 as an assistant for Hayden’s Anderson Transit with special needs children following 31 years of service. She loved to crochet, play cards, listen to music and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Jeff Gordon fan. Karen is survived by her children: Merrill David (RaeLynne Babb) Dougherty, Ashley Sue (Carl Halladay) Thompson; grandchildren, Alanah Marie Dougherty, William Inholt, Jared Inholt-Hancock, Dennis Eugene Joseph Thompson; one great-grandchild; siblings, Debra (Jim Hughes) Huffman, Anita (Danny) Walker, Deanna (Bob) Bassett, Elizabeth (Ted) Hiatt, Kowinna (Mike) Sharpe, Donna (Tracey) Price, Moses (Paul) Beeman-Rigau, Tammy (Rodney) Hunter; aunt, Rose Beeman;, many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Thompson; father, Melvin Dean Beeman; mother, Merrilyn Beeman, nephews, Staff Sergeant Robert Eugene Colvill, Shaun Michael Price, Keeton Michael Carmack; mother-in-law, Ethel Mae Thompson; father-in-law, Maurice Thompson; sister-in-law, Mary Collins; brother-in-law, Tommy Thompson. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019, 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN. Services will be Thursday, March 21, 2019, 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ben Parker officiating. Burial will take place in the Nelson Cemetery, Anderson.
