Kaitlyn Nicole “Kait” Skinner, 26, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the University Hospital in Columbia. She was born March 10, 1993 in St. Louis, MO to Steven and Denise (Miller) Wood. Kait worked as a paraprofessional at Westran Elementary School. She married Justin Skinner on September 19, 2015 in Moberly and he survives. Also surviving are her parents, Steven and Denise Wood, sisters, Kaley Wood of Rocky Mount, NC and Kelsey Wood and her fiancé Jameson Sheley of St. Louis, MO, three nephews, Carter Wood and David and Lukas Skinner, two nieces, Kinley Long and Eloise Sheley, parents-in-law, William and Terra Skinner of Huntsville, grandparents-in-law, Margie Shannon, William Skinner and Ruth Colfelt, great-grandmother-in-law, Marie Farris, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene and Elaine Wood and Roger and Lola Miller. Kait was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family, cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Mizzou Tigers. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister and aunt. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh that could brighten anybody’s day. She was an inspiration to all. Memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Moberly Animal Shelter would be appreciated. Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at the visitation, which will be, Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Cater Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, 2:30 p.m. at the St. Pius X Catholic Church. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
