Jim McClellan was born November 21, 1939, in Council Grove, Kansas, to Jamie Lyle and Verna Estel Van Fossen McClellan. He passed away on Tuesday, March 26, at the age of 79. A private memorial service will be held later this week.. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center. Jim married Linda Ruth Wilson on July 3, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was employed as a diesel mechanic. After he retired in 2005, he became a painting contractor until he retired again in 2017. He enjoyed archery. He loved playing the guitar and singing. He also enjoyed collecting records. Jim was an ordained minister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jamie Lyle and Verna McClellan; and his sister, Debbie Reynolds. Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda; 6 children, Jim McClellan Jr. of Kansas, Scott and wife Teri McClellan of Kansas, Lycrecia and husband Cary Garrison of Kansas, Tammie and husband Marlin Gilmer of Fort Worth, Texas, Sherry and husband Greg Gaston of Granbury, Texas, and Leon Falls of Denver, Colorado; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Chuck and wife Penny Chapman of Lawton; and 2 sisters, Linda and husband Jack Chrissman of Lawton and Peggy Miliam of Duncan.
