Jessie Glenn Arnett, age 72, a loving husband, father and grandfather of Elizabethton, TN passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at his residence. A native of Athens, TN he was the son of the late Joseph Andrew Arnett and Laura Carter Arnett. Mr. Arnett was retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. He was a U.S. Veteran of the National Guard. Mr. Arnett was of the Baptist faith and he was a member of the Masons, the Shriners, the Watauga Lake Sailing Club and the Johnson City Power Squadron. He was an avid sailor and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Arnett. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty years, Carol Ann Stephens Arnett, of the home; two sons, Travis Arnett and wife Melody, Johnson City, TN and Rick Arnett and wife Brandy, Richmond, VA; a daughter, Amber Arnett, Elizabethton, TN; two grandsons, River Arnett and Dylan McKeehan and one sister, Eglenda Johnson, Wisconsin. Several nieces and nephews also survive. According to his wishes he did not want to have a public service. The family will hold a private service at a later date. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children/Jericho Temple, P. O. Box 5548, Kingsport, TN 37663 or to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909.
