James Joseph “Sonny” Killen, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was retired from Murray Ohio and of the Catholic Faith. Born Friday, July 7, 1939, in Lawrence County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mae Gieske Killen. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mamie Pettus and Geneva Killen; and one brother, Edwin Killen. Surviving are wife, Glenda Killen of Lawrenceburg, TN; son, Joey Killen (Barbara) of Lawrenceburg, TN, daughter, Jana Killen of Tuscumbia, AL, grandchildren, Dustin Killen (Lauren) of Killen, AL, Holden Killen (Lauren) of Lynnville, TN and Anna Leigh Killen Brown (David) of Columbia, TN; great-grandchildren, Kase Killen, Brooks Killen and Aybrie Killen; sister, Margie Hughes of Loretto, TN; brother-in-law, David Terry of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 21, 2019, with Jacob Kitchens officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. Family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
