Jack’s Obituary Jack A. Raines, age 83, of Newport passed away Friday, March 22, 2019. Jack, a veteran and life-long resident of the Edwina Community, married his beloved wife, Mary Hall Raines on November 28, 1959. Jack ran his own service station and auto parts businesses for many years. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Grace Raines; his siblings, Stella Barnes, Billy Joe and Jimmy Raines; and an infant daughter, Jacquilyn Raines. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Raines; his children, Stella and Gary Hurley, James Raines, and Lenora and Bryan Douglas; his grandchildren, Chris and Heather Hurley, Evan Hurley, Alyssa Brooks, and his great grandchildren, Jackson and Jolene Hurley. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Manes Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Franklin and Mike Runyan officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, March 25, 2019 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday prior to funeral service.
