Martin, 99, of Moscow Mills, MO, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at his home. He was born on Oct. 1, 1919 in Moscow Mills to William Samuel and Mary (Teasley) Martin. After graduation from Troy Buchanan High School, he continued farming on the family farm. Harvey was always a hard worker and gave 110%. At the age of 24, he married his sweetheart, Hattie Schnarr of St.Charles on April 9, 1944. To this union were born four children: Harvey, Peggy, Brenda and Donna. Harvey was a dedicated member of Highland Prairie Union Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years and also served as a deacon. Farming was his passion, but he also sold insurance for 38 years with Northwestern Mutual Life ins. Co. Harvey served as past president of the St.Charles Assoc. of Life Underwriters, served on the board over ten years and received both National and State recognition for the most increased membership in one year in the nation. He earned the National Quality Award for 29 years; was a 4-H leader for 43 years and a very dedicated member of Gideons for many years. Surviving are his loving children: Harvey Wayne (Virginia) Martin of Moscow Mills, Peggy (Sam) Urfer of Moscow Mills, Brenda Rahn of St.Charles and Donna (Bart) Eppard of Moscow Mills; seven grandchildren: Trudy, Tammy, Matthew, Dawn, Pam, David, Rahnny; and 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hattie Martin; two infant children; 2 half-brothers; 1 half-sister and two sisters: Bernice McConnell and Arline Corbin. Vis.
