Howard E. Farris, 86, of Southwest MI, passed away 3/29/19 in Dunedin, FL, surrounded by loving family. He was born in Arkansas and moved to MI with his family at age 5. He lived in Benton Harbor MI, got his diploma, went into the Air Force (1952-56). He married and had 2 children (Debra and Brian). He later attended Mi State, and got his PhD at Western Michigan University. He was a professor of Psychology at WMU for 35yrs. He retired in 2000, and enjoyed running, sailing, music and creating wine on his grape farm in Mattawan, MI. He moved to Grand Rapids to live with his wife, Gussie in 2003. He is survived by his current wife, Gussie Farris of Grand Rapids, children; Debra Farris of Mattawan, MI and Brian Farris of Portage, MI, and their mother, Barbara Farris (Roderick Place) of Lawton, MI, step-mother Nancy Lindahl of Plainwell, MI, sister-in-law, Dorothy Farris and family of Dunedin, FL, and blended family, Kim and Dawn Logie-Bates, Robin and Mike Morren, Sue Folkringa, and grandchildren, Josh, Bethany, Josiah, Jon and Ben Burns, Jimmy Logie IV (Nikki), Skylar Smith, and great-grandson, James Logie V. He was an amazing man, and will be greatly missed by many. Several Memorial services will be held, one in Grand Rapids, MI, one at WMU, at the Farm in Mattawan, MI.
