Obituary for Dr. Harry Pitkin Bowes Dr. Harry Pitkin Bowes of Erie, Colorado, passed June 20, 2017 after an extended illness. Dr. Bowes was born Nov. 12, 1935, in Des Moines, Iowa to Margaret Pitkin and John G. Bowes. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John. Dr. Bowes is survived by his wife, Dana, sons, Bob (Debbie) their sons, Chris & Matt; Jim (Karen), their daughter, Anyn; daughter, Margaret (Richard) Weight, their son, Quinn; brother, Bill; one great-grandchild, Alex; and godsons, Bucky and T.M. He enjoyed a long and varied professional career in higher education and political areas; he was an avid outdoorsman, eagle scout and adventurous in all aspects of his life. The family of Harry Pitkin Bowes will hold a graveside ceremony at Burlington Junction Ohio Cemetery on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at Burlington Junction American Legion Hall on Main Street, hosted by the American legion Women’s Auxiliary.
