Sims age 91, will be held Monday March 11th at 2pm at the Sharon Church of Christ. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday morning at 10am at the church and will go until time of service. Mr. Sims passed away at his home in Sharon, TN on Friday, March 8, 2019. He was born on October 3, 1927 in Sidonia, TN. Mr. Simms is survived by his wife of nearly 76 years, Winnie Poynter Sims, his son, David (Donna) Sims, grandson Samuel Sims, granddaughter Bonnie (David) Roberts, all of Sharon, granddaughter Sandra (Phillip) Vallee, grandsons Billy and Bobby Sims, and granddaughter Lea Ann (Phil) Crowe, all of Martin, TN and granddaughter Amy Frankum of Union City, TN. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Sims was founder of Doyle Sime & Son Trucking in Gleason, TN. After retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Sims enjoyed traveling and visiting with their extended family. Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by his parents, Festus and Fannie (Taylor) Sims. his brother Wayne Sims, and his son, Larry Sims. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or your favorite charity.
