Charles’ Obituary Charles Watkins, 87, of Fuquay Varina, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2019. He passed away at home with his family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 19th between 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20th at 11:00AM at the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will immediately follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran, owned his own lawn service with his son in law. He was an Armco Steel employee for 30 years, a Cary volunteer fireman, an active member of the American Legion Post 67, crossing guard for 2 schools in Cary, and a member of the Jenkins Memorial United Methodist Church. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband to his beautiful late wife, loving father to 2 daughters, supporting Papa to 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and 1 more coming in May. He touched the lives of everyone that knew him. He never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Charles is survived by his 2 daughters, Kay McConnell (Carl), Barbara Poole (Mac); 4 grandchildren, Mandy Branch (Daniel), Ashley McConnell (Chris Robeson), Thomas Poole (Magan) and John Poole (Lauren); great grandson Jonathan McConnell, great- granddaughter, Ellison, and another great-granddaughter on the way, Palmer; 2 nieces, 4 great-nieces and nephews and many more special family and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Macy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jenkins Memorial United Methodist Church at 725 N.
