Charles’ Obituary Charles Hamilton Wellman, age 75 of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Life Care Center of Carrollton, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Henry F. and Martha Mae (Smith) Wellman, born on August 14, 1943, in Carrollton, Missouri. He attended school in both Wakenda and Carrollton. Charles was married to Donna Barnes who survives, and Jeannie Purdy who preceded him in death. He was blessed with children by these two marriages. On October 14, 1989, Charles married Norma Holmes at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. During his working career, he was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri until his retirement after 36 years of service. He was honored by the Ford Motor Company for his invention that improved Ford efficiency. In his spare time, he loved to go camping, fishing, carpentry, and mechanical work. Charles will be remembered for his heart of gold and beautiful smile; but most importantly, his love for his family. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Missouri. Charles is survived by his wife Norma, of the home; children, Sherry Christopher and husband Shan, of Polo, Missouri, Jeff Wellman, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ronda Bates, of Carrollton, Missouri, Chris Wellman and wife Tammy, of Carrollton, Missouri, Michael Wellman and wife Kelly, of Carrollton, Missouri, Susan Anderson and husband Dwayne, of Braymer, Missouri, Kim Johnson and husband Lloyd, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Angela Sweaney and husband Tony, of Harrisonville, Missouri; three brothers, Bobby Wellman and wife Frieda, of Bogard, Missouri, Kenny Wellman and wife Sue, of Kearney, Missouri, and David Wellman and wife Linda, of Sedalia, Missouri; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Martha Wellman; his wife Jeannie Wellman; one sister, Marion Noah; four brothers, Marvin, Daniel, Joe, and Bill Wellman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North 65 Highway, Carrollton, Missouri. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019, at Bittiker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
