Betty Mary Jones 79, widow of James Hershel Jones, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday March 20, 2019 in Berea, KY. Mrs. Jones was born in Hazard, KY March 12, 1940 to the late George Washington and Emily Jane (Sumner) Combs. Betty and Hershel were in the restaurant business in Berea, KY starting in the mid 1960’s with the Tastee-Freez drive-in restaurant, then the Colonel Drive-In Restaurant, and ultimately The People’s Restaurant.
